Happy 5th of July?

Well I was so busy yesterday I didn't get to post so here I am today, a day late. We were invited to go over to a friends house yesterday for a BBQ and fellowship. It was a really nice day. We ate, we played games, we talked and had great fellowship. I made homemade root beer! That was so neat! The recipe is
3 1/3 gallons of water
6 cups of sugar
1 ounce of Lorann Root Beer flavor
1 block of dry ice, about 5.5 to 6 pounds
Mix the water and sugar, add the flavoring and drop in the dry ice.
I got so many compliments on this. The girls thought it was great and Wade even tried some(root beer is NOT his favorite). We also made pizelles which are an Italian cookie and we made a cake and decorated it with strawberries, blueberries and almonds. We got home pretty late and just went to sleep. Today I need to clean up from the mess I made yesterday and get some sewing done. I have fallen way behind on my sewing projects. This week Wade and I will be going to Kansas City Missouri on Tuesday. I think there and back will be about 8 hours. It will be a long trip and will cut into what I need to get done but hopefully it will be worth it.
I hope everyone had a good 4th!!

Love
Laura

This may be a silly question, but did the rootbeer come out carbonated?

I hope you have a safe trip to KC. =)

Nope it sure didn't and I thought that would be a drawback but it wasn't. Absolutely yummy!
