Well things seem to have been crazy around here lately but I have a few minutes to post so I am taking advantage of it. The girls are getting ready to go to camp next week. They are pretty excited about going. Wade is going to continue to work so I guess I will see what it will be like when my children are out of the house and I am all alone. I have plenty to keep me busy of course, but I will miss having everyone around. Wade is going out of town this week and will be back after the girls leave on Sunday. I went to the orthopedic surgeon this morning to check on my knees, mainly my right knee. I have to schedule an MRI and then go back for a follow-up. Brittany is getting ready to graduate in just a couple of weeks. There were times in this home school journey that I never thought this day would come but here it is, just around the corner. I am so happy she will be graduating in a class of one, at church on Father's Day! She just has to take her SAT's and I have to send off her final report card and everything we need to do for college admissions is DONE! YES!
Summer is looking busy for us but in a good way. Michelle is going on a trip to TN with a family from church. She will be gone about 3 weeks. Hannah is going to work for a few hours a day babysitting for some neighbor children. Brittany is going to work also...for me! She wants to earn some extra money for college but Wade and I were not comfortable with her working. I thought and prayed about it and god gave me some good ideas! She has a beautiful handwriting to so I am going to have her put pictures in albums I bought and do a little journaling beside them. I wanted to go and put everything into scrapbooks but I have to come to the realization that is NEVER going to happen so into photo albums they go with some journaling. I also have a bunch of sermons on cassette tape. Well since casstte tapes are going the way of the dodo, I am going to have her put them onto CD's for me. These are two time consuming projects that I want to get done and now they can. There are some other projects that need doing also that I will probably set her to, to keep her busy.
I am changing the way we do school a bit so I will be working on revamping our schedules and making sure we have time to do all we need/want to. I am going to try and post on some of the books I am reading that are just wonderful. I am truly trying to engulf myself with God on all fronts. Down in my craft/school room I have been listening to radio via the internet. This is put out by Pensacola Christian College where Brittany is going and I am enjoying it very much. I have a bunch of sermons that I am going to start listening to also. I am readingtwo books right now, not counting the Bible. The first is Created to be His Help Meet! WOW! I have a bunch to post on that but let me just say if you don't want to be convicted on a lot of things about being a wife DO NOT read this book! The other is The Hope Chest. I have thought for many years how I would like to furnish a hope chest for my girls and I am trying to finally put "some feet" to the idea. I am reading the Bible of course, but I will start my "read through the Bible in 90 days" on June 1st. I miscalculated my dates for finishing FBI so I had to readjust my time to start this reading. I am looking forward to it SO much though! Anyone who wants to join me I have a schedule I can either post or email to you.
Lastly, please pray for my upcoming drs appointment. After years and years of feeling something was not quite right with me (...no comments on the obvious thank you :-)!) I have an appointment with an endocrinologist on June 9th. IF all medical reasons are ruled out for my inability to lose weight I will be looking into some other ways to make the extra weight go away. I just don't know how to pray for this, I really don't. It is a very circular problem. I need to walk/exercise to lose weight, my knees hurt so bad that I can barely keep up with any exercise. If I lose some weight, the pressure will be a bit less on my knees so I can walk to lose the weight...make sense??? That is why I was at the orthopedic surgeon this morning. *sigh*

Hey Laura, it was great reading and getting caught up on yalls life. I hope yall are doing well, it sounds that way. I was excited to hear that Brittany will be coming to PCC. You now we live like 20 min away. I would love to be able to help Brittany out with anything that she might need or want next year. To get away for the weekend or whatever. We will be here. Brad actually is going to Iraq the end of Jun and will be back the end of Sept so if yall all come down please give us a shout so we can see yall. That would be great. My cell number is 850-803-6383. We also know several other people that are coming to PCC from our church in GA.
WOW! I didn't know you were that close! Brittany will be so excited! We are taking her there in August and so maybe we can stop by and visit! I am putting your cell phone # in my cell phone now!
Great to hear from you!
Ahh, you gotta love those catch 22s. I hope the endocrinologist can figure out what's going on. I'll be praying about it! Let us know what the MRI shows. I really hope you won't be needing any surgery. I'll add that to the prayer list as well.
Good ideas about Brittany working this summer.... I'll have to remember that for when mine get older.
Are you just NOW reading Created To Be His Helpmeet? I remember trying to get you to read that at least 2 years ago! I'm glad you're liking it... it's one of my favorites. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on future posts.
Laura, thank you so much for your sweet comment on my post. I can't wait to catch up with you on your blog and get to know you better :)
I totally cracked up about this " (...no comments on the obvious thank you :-)!)" LOL I will be praying about your trip to the endo.Dr. I hope you share more of what you find out. So many women are put on drastic meds and what they really needed was to find out the ROOT of the problem! Praying you find out and that it will be quickly corrected. (((hug))) heather
Hey, Laura! I have a post request...
I read the comment you left for Heather about Proverbs 17:1. Could you do a post about that verse and tell us what you've learned from it? I know I'd be interested :)
I will definitely be praying for you. Tell Brittany I said Congrats on graduating adn wish her the best when she heads off to college.
