Treading water...

Have you ever felt like you were treading water? Just busy as a bee but not getting anywhere? That's what is feels like lately in our house. Wade is busy with his car, he was able to buy an engine, transmission and everything he needs to go along with it. He is going to pick it up in Kansas City MO and the guy said he had a bunch of other stuff that he was going to GIVE Wade for the inside of the car. How neat! Wade has been working very hard on this car, most of his spare time is spent on it but he will truly be able to say he has built it from the ground up. He has learned to weld during this project too! It is neat that he is so handy like that. For those of you who may not know he is rebuilding his dream car, a 1969 Ford Mustang. I will post some pics at the end of this post.

Britt is busy finishing up high school. I spoke to Pastor tonight and her graduation is set for June 15th in the evening, Father's Day. Apparently a lot of the homeschoolers in Wichita get together at a church and graduate all of their kids. That is not for us, we would like for family (both blood and church) and friends to be there. She is most definitely in a class by herself! Her graduation gown is burgundy and her tassel will be burgundy and gold (a tip of the hat to her Daddy!). We are busy making plans for Britt to get her hair done, senior pictures are this week, a doctors appointment for allergies before camp, SAT the day after she comes back from camp...busy busy! She is also going to Junior Camp as a helper/counselor.

Michelle is diligent in her school work! She has said she wants to be a registered nurse so we are gearing up our curriculum to that end. Lots of science and math in our future. I was looking at the anatomy curriculum and what we have to dissect...she got a little green at the thought! She also wants to learn everything she can about everything! She is very interested in baking and cooking. She is also excited about sewing and quilting. We are working on many different badges for our Keepers at Home program.

Hannah is crazy about Nancy Drew. Our library has a program where they will put books on hold for you for $.25. I was getting so many calls for Nancy Drew books that I had them put our notifications on email so I can let her know there are more books and delete-delete-delete. She is doing better in school. Things are sinking in about responsibility and her job as a student. She is quite the artist also. She accepted a job for the summer a couple of doors down to watch a couple of younger kids a few hours a day. She wants to save money for a guitar and Nancy Drew books. As a Trixie Belden fan myself I don't see her fascination....

I have a few things going on. As acting "CO" while Wade is away I am trying to see if there is a job the girls and I can get done this week. I wanted to till up my garden but rain seems to be putting a "damper"...get it :-)!!.... on that! I have much sewing and quilting to do and much overseeing of the stuff the kids are doing. Not to mention graduation announcements, getting ready for camp, finishing up the last 2 tests for FBI and gearing up for reading the Bible in 3 months time! I am really excited about that and I am trying to clean my "reading plate" of everything to set myself up for success.

Our Pastor at church is having the church pray and consider starting FBI this coming semester! I am so excited! It is such a wonderful ministry and I have learned so much. I have learned enough to know that I need to learn so much more! I pray we will have enough interest in the church to get it started.

Well I guess that is all for now. Here are a couple of pics of the "project car". By the way 1969 for the year he was born and Mustang is what you call folks in the military that go from enlisted to officer. That and it is just about the coolest car of all time!!
